Happy Halloween 2014

In case you're wondering we did carve pumpkins & although, I'm disappointed in how they turned out the girls loved them.  For 2014:  Ella wanted Nightmare Moon the scariest of the My little pony horses & Jessica, of course, wanted Maleficent.  Both were challenging to carve in their own ways, Maleficent in particular did not exactly turn out like the pattern, but again, Jessica loves it anyway.

Nightmare Moon

Maleficent….I know this one is hard to tell
And for costumes this year:   Ella is Rapunzel & Jessie is…..Maleficent.  Since I'm working tomorrow I thought I'd go ahead & post these.  I'm thinking it was probably smart to go ahead & take these pics early as we are supposed to get rain tomorrow night.  Tomorrow at school the girls are having a party on the "gym bus" & then they get to trick or treat at the businesses around their school…so needless to say they will have a fun day.

Maleficent….we made the staff using stuff from the craft store as I couldn't fathom paying $30 for a plastic one that would probably fall apart.  Can you tell she really likes getting into character….don't adjust your screens I edited these to bring out the green as Jessica wanted to have green around her like the real Maleficent does in Sleeping Beauty

Rapunzel: Ella did not want to wear her wig to take her pics, but she does have a 3 ft long blonde wig to wear for tomorrow….it's a blast brushing that one out…*sarcasm* :)

Slime

Due to Halloween being this week, I wanted to try to do some new crafts/activities related to the holiday.  So today the girls & I made slime.  Easy as can be & it kept them busy for almost 2 hrs.  Here's the tutorial via Pinterest:  (It's made with glue & borax)

Father/Daughter Ball 2014

For those who read the blog, you may remember that last year Jessie & Michael attended a Princess Ball at our church.  This year, Daddy, had 2 little girls to take to the ball.  The theme for the ball this year was "Hollywood Glamor", but to my girls that meant princess.  They each chose they dresses over a month ago.  The ball took place on Oct. 24 at 6:30 PM.  Since I work Fridays, I got out of work as quickly as possible to hurry home to get the girls ready for their special night.  The day before, I did sneak in a few pics of them in their dresses, just to be sure I got some decent individuals.  On the night of the ball, they had a special time getting ready in mommy's bathroom.  I did allow them to wear some make up & tried to fix their hair, but honestly, it was really more for show as their hair does what it wants.  Michael wore his tux & took his little girls out for a fun night of dinner & dancing.  I was originally planning to attend with them to take some pics, but I was tired & I am glad they got this special time together.  There was a photo booth that night, so I'm hopeful that they got a cute one at the ball :)  Here's a few pics of our little girls & some with their "hero", daddy!

Day before pics of our little princess….she was most excited about her "glass slippers."
