Snow Princess

I've seen a lot of pics of kids in the snow this season, as it seems as though we've had quite a bit this year.  Seeing as how it is late Feb & I am hopeful that spring will be here soon (at least, no more snow ;)  I wanted to document Ella in the snow for final time this season.  I've had the idea for this outfit in my head for a little while & must admit I was surprised by how great Ella looked in peach...it really compliments her skin.  The skirt, truthfully, is a bit big, but I think the color was beautiful in these pics.  Ms. Ella has the perfect procelain/peaches & cream complexion to pull off this color.  I can't believe how big she's gotten since last February, when I tried to document her in her last snow of the season around the same time.  Take a look at the comparison below.  Isn't my little snow princess beautiful??  I grant you some of the expressions aren't great, but I like them anyway & I am sure the grandparents will as well.  Taking a break from blogging for the next few days.  Check back on Monday for Jessie's 3rd birthday post & next week for pics of our little celebration (truly, just birthday cake & presents!).  Hope you all enjoy the remainder of your week & have  a great weekend!

For my friends who enjoy photography:  One thing I've figured out when taking pics in the snow, you must overexpose.  The camera will read the white on the ground as light coming in & if you're not careful all the pics of your subject will be horribly dark.  I over exposed by +1 on my light meter & then fixed the rest in editing.

Bubbles in February

After school on Friday, Jessie decided that it was time to blow bubbles.  Eventhough, it was a bit chilly, I allowed it seeing as how she's been doing so well at school lately.  No crying when she is dropped off & going potty like such a big girl.  Usually after school, she tells me everything that happened.  Now it includes who went potty & who didn't.  Funny the things I now know about her little friends :)  Wonder what they say about her to their mommies....haha!  Anyway here are some candids of Ms. Jessie looking so big blowing her bubbles on a cold February day.  Here's hoping for Spring soon.

Mud puddles

Life is more fun when you have a little friend to share your experiences with.  I am thankful the girls have each other & are developing a  loving bond with each other.  Take a look at them playing in a mud puddle together.  Precious!

Princesses 'R' Us

Jessie is really into all the Disney princesses right now.  After receiving her Cinderella doll for Christmas this year, she's been steadily discovering the other princesses.  A week or so ago my parents sent her a box with a few more of the dolls in there...needless to say this little girl was pretty excited.  Although, she hasn't watched all of the movies all the way through (she thinks parts of Beauty & the Beast & The Little Mermaid are too scary), I am sure we will enjoy watching & enjoying the princesses together over the next few years.  Happy Friday & enjoy your weekend!

She's still our baby

Although the reality of Ella no longer being a "baby" is hitting me hard these day, she's still a baby to me.  Several nights while Michael was gone I had been rocking her to sleep while singing some lullabies (granted I'm not a great singer, but she seemed to like them).  She hasn't let me rock her to sleep in so long I had forgotten how peacefully they sleep on you once they do fall asleep.  I think she just needed a little assurance that someone was there for her b/c dada was gone.  On the day I took them to Sams/Target, I put her in a cute pair of corduroy overalls previously worn by our niece.  They are a size 18 mo & totally adorable.  I am sure this will be one of the last times she can wear them, but she looked so cute, I couldn't resist a few candids of her in them.  Although at times she seems so big with going on the potty or her speech, she's still our baby girl.  Enjoy a few pics of little Ms. in her overalls & with her beloved pap-pap.  I realize she's too old for a paci, but I just don't have the heart to take it from her for now.

When she heard the airplane overhead, she looked up and smiled & said Dada, no joke, she knew dada was taking an airplane
