This last weekend, we did the Pumpkin Patch….to be more precise, we did 2 Pumpkin Patch experiences. On Saturday, I worked & then we headed out to our usual Reily's Summer Seat Farm, we've been going there for the last couple of years. It was crazy busy in the afternoon & we actually missed the last tractor out to the patch that afternoon mostly b/c I read a Groupon wrong about times, but also b/c there were some older folks in line ahead of us who didn't seem to know how to pay…but that's really a different blog altogether. So we missed the last tractor ride on Saturday, but they still had the Fall Festival going, including pony rides. We decided to let the girls go have a little fun there before calling it a day. They got their faces painted, did the little kiddie corn maze, rode ponies, & basically had fun seeing the sights. We were all a tad disappointed that we didn't make it out to the patch, so on Sunday, it was an absolutely gorgeous day, we knew we were going for round 2. We decided to head out to Shenot Farms for their Pumpkin Patch. It was slightly less busy & fun to go somewhere different. Plus, they have a huge corn maze, which the girls really enjoyed…bonus, the tractor ride to the patch is free as is the corn maze…score!!! The girls had a blast as usual & truly love seeing all the pumpkins. We ended up getting our pumpkins from Shenot at the farmers market & not from the patch. This suited Michael just fine as he is not totally thrilled about carrying 50lbs of pumpkins back to the market to pay. All in all it was a wonderful, beautiful fall weekend & great family time for us all. Despite my poor planning on Saturday, everything worked out, possibly for the better on Sunday.
