Christmas Tree 2014

The year we decided to get away from the city and get a fresh tree.  Clark Michael & I had seen this beautiful tree farm a few weeks ago while on our way to brunch & thought we'd give it a try.  So on Sunday we traveled to Lake Forrest Gardens to choose our tree.  This place was crazy as you could take a tractor ride out to their acres & acres of tree & cut your own.  The girls were overwhelmed with all the sights & it was extremely muddy from the rain on Saturday, so that's why they have their pants pulled up.  We will definitely be making this place part of our tradition.  Although, we didn't venture out to cut our own tree this year, I am sure we will in the years to come.  Michael always wants to top the last years tree, but truthfully, our 14 foot stunner last year was a little more than we could handle.  Michael had to use a saw to cut & remove it from our home last year, so we decided to go a little smaller this year with an 11 ft Scotch Pine.  A gorgeous tree, for sure!  My job is to get the lights on the tree & then I let me little elves go to work decorating it.  They had such a blast & did a great job.  What a fun family time & wonderful traditions we enjoy!  So thankful :)
