This week we had a mid-week lake trip to Erie planned. We had been watching the weather closely as it looked like it might rain, but we decided to go up on Monday night after we were finished with work & to enjoy a little time at our property. For those of you that read the blog, we own a 3 acre piece of property on Lake Erie with a private beach. It is lovely, but needs a ton of work to develop it. We store our RV up there for now, but it is a wonderful area & a place we hope the girls will make lasting memories. Our hope is to one day build a cabin of some sort….we shall see! For now, the time spent there is restful & fun! On Monday evening, we drove up from Pittsburgh (it's about 2.5 hrs from our home) & made it just in time for a gorgeous Erie sunset at one of our favorite local restaurants that has outdoor seating on the beach. The girls enjoyed playing in the sunset. Then on Tuesday, we had a little hike down to the beach to check it out in the morning. Of course, the girls couldn't help but get wet. Despite the cooler weather & chilly water, they had a blast splashing & collecting rocks. After our morning trip to the beach, we headed out to get some breakfast & then returned for some more beach play. The sun was bright & shadows harsh, but you guys get the picture….the girls love playing at the lake. The water looked so blue that day as did the sky & it was a wonderful day for our family. Michael built a fire on the beach & we all warmed ourselves after splashing in the water. Needless to say we are savoring the last bit of summer. Enjoy our snapshots & have a great day!
