1st gymnastics performance

Our little girl, Jessie, also had her first "big performance" during the first week of June.  She also was extra excited to get all dressed up to show us her skills.  She mostly wanted to show off for her daddy, but that's ok, that's how it should be :)  At first, she was slightly jealous that Ella got a sparkly tutu, but then we she got to pick her own leotard, which happened to be a blue sparkly one, she was good.  She also was very patient and allowed me to fix her hair & she too wanted a little makeup to match her leotard.  She opted for blue eyeshadow & some lipstick.  Now you may be wondering, do I just have blue eyeshadow laying around?, well, yes & no, it's a long story, but it was a sample & she certainly felt special.  She was the only little girl in her class.  Her comment to me before the performance began was "Mommy, I'm going to show those boys how it's done!"  That's our girl, never afraid to take on anyone head to head.  Jessica is so confident, she loves the spotlight to be on her.  She's so different from me in that way.  I was so proud of her that day.  Their routine was set to Jurassic Park music & they did a "dinosaur" routine.  They started out as eggs, hatched, & then proceeded to terrorize parade around the gym like dinosaurs.  They all did their very best on the different gymnastics equipment & I was so happy to  see Jessie did not miss a step on the beam.  This had been her hardest skill to conquer & she nailed it.  It's funny the pride you feel as a parent when your little ones try their best & succeed.  A much greater pride than any accomplishment I've ever personally achieved.  Proud of our Jessie girl!
