Big sissy fall

So I really liked how the pics of Ella turned out in front of the golden yellow leaves with the 2.0 aperture...you know I had to do some of my Jessie girl.  The Giraffe was an impulse purchase (bargain bin at a toy store at the mall) who has become her new best friend.  Momo (her beloved Monkey) is still on the roster, but Happy the giraffe is up there also.  Oh how big my girlie looks!  Just love this little dress & her little boots also.  She's totally loving her "school" on Fridays & likes her teachers Ms. Jen & Ms. Sue.  Last week they said she was a joy to have & that they wished they had a class full of Jessie's--I immediately asked if they were talking about my child!  She's growing again right now & eating us out of house & home.  She actually ate 3 dozen eggs in 2 & 1/2 weeks...that's crazy, right??  Anyway, enjoy some fall themed pics of the big sissy.

P.S. Some of these pics may look a little soft, but I do believe they will be fine when they are printed, why you may wonder??  Mpix, which I use to print my photos, sharpens before they print them...good to know when printing your pics

Pumpkin Patch 2012

This past Saturday we decided it was time to head out to the pumpkin patch.  With several in the area we chose Reily's Farm due to it's closeness & the fun activities they have for kids (Last year when my parents were here, we actually went here also--see last year's blog post--it's crazy how small the girls where last year).  Of course, the day we decide to go look for our pumpkins it would be cold...beautiful, but in my opinion, cold!  We went around noon so the sun was in full force, but I still got a few cute pics.  You can't really see it, but the girls had on matching Elmo Halloween shirts, which they are adorable & I'll try for a better pic soon!  Both girls didn't know what to make of the Hay Ride out to the "Patch", but Ella had a blast when we got to the patch.  She was very interested in the pumpkins & wanted to look at them all.  Jessie, on the otherhand, never really settled down after her ride on the "tractor".  She was very clingy & wasn't all that interested in picking a "Jack", which was a surprise to me seeing as how she loves her pumpkins & was talking about going to the "Punkin Patch" all week.  After we got our Jacks loaded on the hay ride & we had made our way back down to the activities, we did a kiddie corn maze, the petting zoo, got some kettle corn, & dada had a much earned funnel cake after carrying our not so small Jacks down the hill to the car :)  It was a fun trip, although, as Michael & I both said later in the day...in a year or so they will enjoy it even more.  Guess it means we've got even more fun stuff to come with the girls!  Enjoy some pics of them at the Pumpkin Patch!

The other day we took a walk & Ella happened to be sporting a nearly new outfit from friends of ours that always give us the cutest clothes from their sweet little girl.  She looked so cute that a photoshoot happened, of course, right??  Enjoy some pics of my almost 17 month old.  Ms. Ella has become obsessed with the potty lately.  She loves to read a book about going potty & likes to try as much as possible.  Yesterday she actually went pee-pee on the potty.....I am such a proud Mama.  Probably just a fluke, but I'll take it :)

For my photography friends: I am working on taking pics at lower aperture numbers...not easy & many of these are not as crisp as I would like, but still pretty good.  The aperture I used was a 2.0.  The good news is that my shutter speeds could be fast ;)

Well, doesn't this look fancy??  The reason I like this pic so much is that so much of their little personalities are captured here: Jessie is the cautious older sister, standing, watching ever so closely to decide if she wants to proceed & Ella is the impulsive little sister, just taking off on the road ahead

These girls are becoming better little playmates by the day.  After our walk the other day, I happened to capture a few moments of proof that they do indeed like each other.  They are both dirty in these pics as we had taken a long walk & there is truly no telling what they tried to put in their mouths, but the pics are adorable to me.  Enjoy & have a great day!

Sick day

Jessie has had a cold the last few days.  Our poor little patient :(  She was too sick for school last Friday, she had a fever & a cough, which sounded horrible.  Here's a pic to document my sad little one.  She found that pacey & then her giraffe is her new friend (her name is Happy)& she makes everything better--you all know by now that I couldn't resist this sight!  I grant you she's 2 & 1/2 with a pacifier, but you just give in when they look this pathetic, right??

The truth about Mondays...

So those of you that are reading will note that I don't have a job right now & so what can be my secret truth about Mondays.....lot & lots of chores!  All that fun you had this weekend has now bubbled over into laundry, dirty floors, food stained clothing, & a full dishwasher.  Is it horrible??  No certainly not, but sometimes I do wonder how my two kiddos & the 2 adults in this house can make so much laundry in a weekends time...these are the things that I will always wonder about, that & where do all those socks really go that are lost in the dryer??  I mean seriously, how can they just disappear??  Anyway, I'm taking a short break from blogging this week.  So don't worry (grandparents/husband) I have not fled to Mexico or another unknown location.  I just need to take care of a lot of seasonal deep cleaning/remodeling projects.  I hope everyone has a great week!  Check back next week for some pics of us taking the girls to the Pumpkin Patch ;)
