Friendship

Last night we had a special guest in our home....our sweet friend Lisa Kernicky!  For those of you that don't know Lisa, she is a coworker of Michael's at AGH and she has become a close friend to our family.  We really got to know her while I was expecting Jessica.  She gave us a wonderful baby shower at AGH.

And she soon became a special "Aunt" to our little Jessica.  Well, I should say to both our kids at the time, Kitty Jenkins also loves his Aunt Lisa.  Because we have no family in Pittsburgh & we had not made too many friends, Lisa steeped up to offer her support to us by watching Jessica numerous times.  After we had Ella, she even kept both girls for us so we could get away for our 8th wedding anniversary.

She will be moving soon to sunny Florida & we are thrilled for her, although we will greatly miss her.  Lisa, if you're reading, please know how much your kindness means to our family.  I read a quote recently about friends that said  "Friends are God's way of taking care of us."  I would certainly say Lisa has helped to take care of us.  Lisa has a heart of gold and has given so much to so many.  We are grateful to have gotten to know her & hope to keep in touch through the years.  Here are a few pics of her with our children (all 3).

Friendship is something that you don't truly appreciate until you don't have it.  When we first moved to Pittsburgh, we knew so few people and had to start over in building our life.  I will be the first to admit that it was a tough transition.  Lisa went out of her way to befriend me & our family. Additionally, all the parents reading know that nothing says true friend like someone's willingness to care for your children.  With all this being said--we pray for safe travels and a great transition for our sweet Aunt Lisa.  I hope for those reading that they have an "Aunt Lisa" or two in their lives because everyone needs a good friend!  Hope everyone has a great Friday & wonderful weekend ;)
